My Crazy Week
My week has been a really messed up week.A lot has gone on.

My son got all As on his report card and his GPA is still 4.0. I am raising one smart(a**)kid.

These are a couple of photos from when my Hubby and Son went to see the Monster trucks.
I found this little guy while I was cleaning house. I decided to be nice and let him live. I did make a deal with him. I will leave him be as long as he doesn't come crawling across any part of me. He seemed like he was OK with the deal. If he brakes our deal, he will be one dead spider.

My little visitor that I wrote about before has returned. He did not do any sun bathing today. He just sat there watching the birds. You can see another picture of him if you click Here.

My mother and Brother came over the other day and brought me a bunny. Isn't she cute?
Then Michelle of Rusin Round Up came over the same day and brought me this beautiful basket that contained a smore, so I put the bear in it she got me last week to show you all.

I finally received the flower that I wanted for Easter. Kevin came home with it and also got me this cute frog. I thanked him but I also let him know he was not off the hook just yet. If you would like to know why my Hubby is in trouble then click Here.

The week went pretty good until yesterday . Michelle came over with her daughter, Faith. Faith had a boo boo that needed looked at. I checked it out and found that she had a piece of glass in it. I told Faith that I needed to get it out for her and I told her to please not be mad at me. I had got it out but, I had hurt her and made her cry, so I started to cry. I can't stand to she any child hurting but I knew I had to get it out. Faith was very angry with me for about an hour afterwards. Every time she looked at me she would start to cry. I had broke my baby girls heart. She loved me again before she left and I got a kiss and huge goodbye. She is just so sweet :-)

Random Thoughts

Have you ever just sat down to type and drew a blank? Then from out of no where you come up with some of the most off the wall crap. Thoughts just start to run through your head and you have no idea where they came from or why they are there. I am having one of those nights. It is about 1:20 in the morning and I should go to bed,but I just don't want to. I am feeling like a defiant child that wants to fight with their parent about bed time, but I am an adult. That means there is no one to tell me to go to bed.

The thought of my friend Mike just popped in my head. He has moved away and I miss talking to him. We keep in touch but it has been hard because we both are so busy. See what I mean, another random thought just running in my head.

I did stop by some blogs and read but after awhile my eyes start to hurt. I popped over to my new friend Speedcat Hollydale's blog. His blog makes me smile. I like to go over there and play with his fish tank. He has a picture of himself playing golf in the background, so for fun I like to feed the fish, on his head. HE HE HE HE HE Sorry, Eric. He has a great blog so if you get a chance go check it out.

More random thoughts.....
I started thinking about Cliff. Cliff has 2 blogs I love to go to. One is Seek Him First and the other is WIXY Gone Bananas. Cliff lost a loved one recently, his brother, and has written some wonderful post about his brother on His Gone Bananas blog. One thing that keeps running through my mind about Cliff is how even in a time of sadness he still thinks of others. Cliff has been sending me e-mails called Today's Turning Point. Getting and reading them have become a big part of my life, and I look forward to getting them. Even though I know Cliff must have been going through a rough time, he still sent me my usual e-mail. Cliff is a true blue friend and I am so honored to be one of his friends. If you get a chance please go by WIXY Gone Bananas, the stories about his brother will touch your heart.

It is 1:45 in the morning and I still have no desire to go to bed. I know I will hate myself when I have to get up in a couple of hours. I just keep remembering that tomorrow is my last day of freedom before spring break starts here. My son and his friends will be playing video games until all hours of the night.I will have a week of teen age boys complaining of being hungry all day long instead of just after school. Could be fun, I always get talked into playing against one of them in a game. They seem to think that just because I have not held a controller in a couple of months,my game system broke, that I can't hold my own.I may be getting old , but I am not that old yet.

OK, I guess I have given everyone a small look inside my thoughts. Now you all KNOW I am crazy, HE HE HE HE HE God Bless and Good night:-)

Wordless Wednesday

These are pictures of cars I took at a car show this past summer. Awesome!!

#27 Unappreciated

I don't normally complain. I accept things to be as they are. Today I feel that I can not do that. It is Easter Sunday. I was expecting to have a glorious day because I got my son and Husband a great gift. There was talk around town for the past 2 weeks about Big Foot the monster truck coming to our town. My hubby and son wanted to go but because we live from payday to payday it makes it hard to afford the little extras.

They wanted to go so bad and I hated seeing that they couldn't go. I hide money here and cut corners there but I got them V.I.P. tickets. I was expecting them to come home def Saturday night because they were only twelve rows away. I got no thank you, I got no Happy Easter Honey or Happy Easter Mom. All I heard were complaints about how it was not what they expected and they wished it would have lasted longer.

I made Chicken-n-noodles and mashed potatoes for dinner tonight, one of their favorites, I thought it would make a good Easter Dinner. I got no, dinner was good or thanks for cooking. All I wanted was just 1 single carnation. I had left hints all week that I wanted one. I didn't even get that.

Maybe I am just complaining because my feelings were hurt and I am starting to feel taken for granted. Then I think maybe I should get mad and stick my foot in their hind quarters. Anyone one who knows me, knows I will not do that, so I will sit here and cry and feel unwanted. I will be Happy again tomorrow because that is just how I am.

Potato Soup :)

I wrote a post a while back talking about my potato soup. I have been asked several times for the recipe, but the problem is that I don't really go by one. I don't think my soup is any different or better then anyone else's.I just make your basic run of the mill soup. My main goal in cooking anything is to satisfy everyone and do it as cheap as possible.

For me there is a lot of people that come to visit me at my home. I not only enjoy feeding my company but I have to have enough left for two lunches for the following day. I like things to be simple and tasty. My soup can also be change to fit you and your family. I also cook a lot by taste and not by measuring and that is why it is so difficult to give a recipe. I have never been one to back down from a challenge so I am going to give this recipe a go. I hope it turns out for all of you. :)

I am going to try and put down my basic recipe. I will then give some suggestions you can add to it to make it your own special soup for your family.

Potato Soup

Potatoes--- Potato
The amount of potatoes depends on how many you plan to feed. I suggest 3-4 medium potatoes for each person. This gives you just enough per person and maybe a little more for later. I feed a lot of men so more is always better.
Milk---Milk
You can use it from a gallon jug or from cans. I prefer canned, but this is your soup, you choose. You will need enough milk to cover the potatoes in the pan. I buy 3 cans of condensed or evaporated milk, but this is not recommended for smaller families. I use 3 cans for 15 pounds of potatoes.
Butter--
I would say about 1 Tablespoon of butter per person. If you are feeding 3 then add 3 tablespoons. If you like more of a buttery taste then go ahead and add more.
Salt and Pepper--
OK, now for this one you are on your own. I never add to much to my soup so my guest can add what they like to their own bowl.

This is the big pot I use to make mine. I fill it almost all the way to the top.It makes about 20 bowls.

How to make it:
1.- Figure up how many people you are planning to feed. If you plan on having 5 then you will need to peel and slice 15-20 medium to large potatoes. I like to cut mine into small cubes, but this is your soup so cut them the way you like.
2.- Place all the potatoes into a big pot and fill with water. Cook on stove at medium to high heat until the potatoes are soft. That means you will have to pluck one out and taste it. Add a sprinkle of salt to the tater it makes it taste better. HE HE HE
3.-When the taters are soft you can do 1 of 2 things.
A.- If you decide to use milk from a gallon jug then you need to drain all the water out of the pan. Add the milk so that it covers the taters. You want your taters to be taking a milk bath HE HE HE HE :) Stir
B.-If you decide to use the canned milk then you need to pour the cans in with the water that the taters are cooking in.I would say if you add 2 can you should be safe.Stir
4.-Lower heat to between low and medium heat. You want it to cook but not to boil. If it starts to boil then turn it down. When boiling occurs it can curdle the milk or make the milk scorch to the bottom of the pan. I would rather wait all night for it to cook then eat burnt soup. Stir.

Added Note: I have found that if you use a pan that is oven safe, you can pop it in the oven and bake the soup. This way is much easier. It does not scorch as easily. Just bake at 350 degrees until potatoes are cooked all the way through.

If you do happen to burn it just a little, don't scrap the bottom. Transfer to another pot and continue. If you were lucky it has not affected your soup. Don't worry I have burnt a few pots in my days because I get sidetracked with other things. If you are really lucky, you will find some one to wash that pot so you don't have too. I never seem to be that lucky. :)
5.- Add butter after you have added the milk. If you are serving 3 then add 3 tablespoons.Stir and Taste often.
6.- Add a shake or 2 of salt and pepper. Stir and Taste :) I recommend that you let everyone add more salt and pepper to their own bowls if they require more. Let it cook for how ever long you would like. It is more or less done when the milk gets hot, but I like to let it cook for about a half an hour to an hour. It gives me an excuse to get other stuff done before dinner time.

Suggestions: There are many different ways to have potato soup.
My friend Beth's family adds dumplings to their soup.
My friend Michelle uses her mother's recipe that calls for noodles and onions.
My brother likes his with kale (a leaf) and sausage.
I have had it before with sausage and it is pretty good.
Beth has had it once with onions and celery.
I have even seen it made with mushrooms added.

Make it your own special soup and have fun doing it. :)

Four Legged Visitors

Beth of I'll Think of Something has been coming over to visit me, like she has been doing for years, but lately she has been bringing visitors.

This is Mooshie. She has been over to visit me before. Beth has always brought her dogs over to visit because she knows I am very afraid of dogs. She has always brought them over so I could get use to dogs and will no longer be afraid. I am more afraid of big dogs then the little ones. Beth owns very big dogs. Mooshie is her smallest.

This little sweety is Puppy Doo. She is Beth's Mother's dog. Puppy Doo is the oldest dog. Beth's Mother has had her for years. My son always played with her when he was little and we would go to Beth's for a visit.

This is Chicka. She is just a puppy right now, but when she grows up she will still be this little. She is not afraid of anything either. She goes after the bigger dogs and even my dog T.J. My dog is afraid of her and runs when she comes near him. It is so funny to see him run from a dog so much smaller then him.
I just had to take this picture because they just looked so sweet sitting there.I have learned over the years that not all dogs are bad. I think it just depends on their owners and how they are treated. I am not so afraid of dogs any more. :)

Big Problem Solved :)

For those of you that have come to my blog recently you may have noticed ads. I put a small, not very noticeable widget on my blog. The widget said nothing about using my site to advertise for other companies. The other day I pop on to check out my blog and boy did I get a surprise. I was flashed an ad for porn!
Wow

I just could not believe it! Anyone who knows me knows that I do not in any way approve of porn. I did fix the problem. The widget was from rankwidget.com and I do not recall ever reading where I gave my permission for the ads. Removing the widget stopped the ads.

I do have to thank a couple of people for their help with fixing this problem. Stacy of My Thoughts talked with me over the phone and used her computer( faster Internet service)to pop all over looking for the same problem on other blogs. She sat and read through a lot of blogs and comment to help me come up with a theory to the cause. I also want to say thank you to the very nice lady at clickser.com. Their ads (nice ads, not smut like the others)were also coming up on my blog and I left a message with them to ask why their ads were there. The very helpful lady told me that I was correct and it was rankwidget that was causing the problem. She suggested that I remove it so I no longer get the ads.

I am just happy my blog is back to normal. I want to warn everyone that rankwidget will put ads on you site that you do not want. I do want to say thank you to everyone for understanding.

May not be Blogging for a While. :(

Warning:

It seems that now I am not only having problems with my computer but now my blog. For some reason, that I do not know, a company is putting their ads on my blog. I have been working on fixing the problem.I have left a message with said company expressing my displeasure with this so I hope they will fix it. Please if you come to my site try not to click on anything. I did and got a very inappropriate site popping up on my screen. It was enough to make me sick.If I can not fix the problem I will be forced to delete my blog and start with a new one. Thank you for understanding, God Bless and I will return as soon as I can fix this problem.

If anyone knows how I can fix this, please let me know. Any help is greatly welcome.

Computer Has Had A Mind Of Its Own :(

My computer has been going through one heck of a week. First it doesn't have Internet on Wednesday because the place I get service was having problems. Then ever since Friday I have been having to fix this and redo that because I download so new upgrades, just like I always do, and it messed up my computer. I have not been able to post or even do anything because every time I would turn it on I wanted to throw it out the window. It is funny now that I have it fixed, but it had me so upset. Everything was shrunk. I mean everything. My words were like this.I could not read anything. Not just the words but even my pictures.

Thank God I have a sister that knows how to fix this stuff. She had called me for information about one of the museums in town. I have been to most of them so she knew I would have the answer. I answer her question then I proceed to tell her what I have been dealing with. She says" if you cant find the problem and fix it then just restore your computer to the way it was before you started having problems". I felt like an idiot. I have only had a computer for a year but she had given me that advice before. When I first bought my computer she had told me" if you mess it up there is always a way to fix it, if not then recover". I usually don't forget things like that but I did.
So far my computer is doing good, but if I get up again tomorrow and see that the Little's were playing on my computer again I may just throw it out the window.

Here is just a sample of what I had to read.

Little boy blue
come blow your horn
the sheep is in the meadow
and the cow is in the corn
where is the little boy
who looks after the sheep?
He is under the hay stack
fast asleep

So if you all don't hear from me then I did throw the computer out the window:) HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE

Welcome to the Neighborhood ! ! !

I just want to let every one know that there is a new blogger in the neighborhood. I think we should all be good neighbors and walk over to her site and maybe bring her a cookie or a nice piece of pie and say hello.

She has been a very close friend of mine since she was 9. I was 18 at the time and this cute little blond haired girl was the little sister of a friend of mine. We have been friends ever since. Her blog is called I'll Think of Something. At the time we just could not come up with title so she said I will think of something and the name just stuck. If you do have a little bit of time today stop on by, I don't think she has any guard dogs so you should be pretty safe. HE HE HE HE

What Did You Say ???????????????

My family is weirder then most. We have our own language. If you hear us you would think we are nuts. I don't know how or where it started, but it was. The language is all the baby words ever spoken by children in the family. I think that maybe it was started because people wanted to remember cute things their children would say. This is a list of most of the words, you never know you may have heard your own children say them and it will bring back memories.
