Christmas for me is the ultimate reminder on how much God loves us, that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior. For me, its a celebration of love and a time to share our blessings to others.. a time for giving and reaching out to the less fortunate and it's also a wonderful time to be with your family. Christmas is not just all about santa claus or the gifts that you will receive or for shopping, we should always remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and let us reflect on how much God loves us. - Just Let Go/Pieces of Me

Christmas is about giving love, forgiving. This remind us how lucky and how God love us when he gave us his only son Jesus Christ. A time for sharing our blessing to our family, friends and to others. - Celebrate Life/My Journey

Christmas for me is not the new things that we have and enjoying the bounties in life but remembering that someone is born to redeem us from our sins and making sure of our salvation Teebob.

The true meaning of christmas for me is sharing, giving, expressing love to one another, and remebering that there is one person up there, who is born on the 25th of december to save us from everything . A lot of people told me that christmas is for kids. yes, it's true but I prefer to say that christmas is for everybody and sharing love to one another is the keyword remember, "you can give without loving but you can't love without giving ". Alaverde33

Christmas is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. The date of the celebration is traditional and is not considered to be his actual date of birth. Christmas festivities often combine the commemoration of Jesus birth with various secular customs, many of which have been influenced by earlier winter festivals.In most places around the world Christmas day happens on December 25. It's a special time of the year - a season of love and a season of giving. A time to share, to give and of course to receive a wonderful gift from beloved..Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Christmas for is the time of the year when you don't think of your self but of the people you love. It's time for people to share even they have nothing for them selves. It's a time gift giving and usually end up emptying your pocket. But people don't think of it as much as how the satisfaction and happiness they share to everyone. Christmas is not all about gift "as mostly kids thought", its more about the love and the togetherness of family and friends. Growing up we my mother have a hard time meet our daily basic need, but she always find a way to give us a great feast every Christmas even without gift. For me that a great example of the meaning of Christmas. No gifts can ever top the satisfaction and happiness you feel in your hearts to see your family and friends happy.Of cousre it's also time for us to celebrate the birth of ur savoir and the time ofr us to thank him for everything he shared to us.. ;) ~ Liza "My so called life"

Christmas to me is one festive holiday. Growing up, I always look forward to new outfits and tons of presents from my godmothers and godfathers. I've tons of them, that's why. As a married woman, the celebration of the day itself, kind of changed a bit as most of you by now is aware that my husband does not celebrate Christmas because he practices the Jewish religion. Nevertheless, deep in my heart Christmas is still that time of year when I reflect at every blessing that came and continue to come my way. That said, it's the time of giving and the season of love and forgiveness.- My World and Juliana's Lair.

To me, Christmas means my mom happily cooking to celebrate Jesus Christ's birth. She always sets up a tree, and her eyes shine as she does it - it is quite a treat for any daughter to witness: I love you mom! - MAX

Christ, the Saviour was bornHoly Night to celebrate and cherish with beautiful Christmas hymnsRejoice for the season of love and glory, full of lights and decorationsIt is the time of sharing and giving, writing cards and wrapping up presentsSpending special and precious moments with my beloved family and friendsThanking God and reflect on the priceless lessons that God has given meMagical moments that I will always treasureAnd, of courseSanta Claus is coming to town!!!-These are what Christmas means to me...Crystal @ Choc Mint Girl-

To me Christ+mas is love. The ultamite show of love. The grandest gift, Jesus Christ. The love of family and friends. The showing of that love for each other. Showing it by giving a gift or just a hug. The one time a year when people come together to show their love for one another. I pray that we can hold that love in our hearts all year long and not just at Christ+mas.- Sindi of Life is A Roller Coaster

Frosty The Snowman :-D

Frosty the snowman is known by lots of children. As adults we tend to forget the joys of just being a kid and playing around. Some have grown to old to build snowmen. I think more adults need to get in touch with their inner child and just go out and build a snowman. The reason I am writing all this is because of a couple adults in my town. They were just being kids one night and this is what they made. A 13 foot Frosty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just think it is the greatest snowman I have ever seen. He is soooooooooo cute:)

The news crews even came out to photo the giant Frosty. My brother works with the people who built it and said that they had a blast making it. They were cold and tired but they had a good time. They made it to look like a fellow employee.He is carrying a tray with food and a drink in one hand and a coke in the other hand. There has a to go bag hanging from his arm and is wearing an apron. They even made him a company pin with his name on it. Frosty will serve you just like they do.
My mother even had her picture taken with it.
Around Christ+mas time people get so caught up in presents and stressing over parties that they tend to forget that it is all about being Happy, enjoying ourselves, and rejoicing over the one great gift. I know that Frosty will melt away but I hope the fun that those people had that night will forever stay in their memories. Merry Christ+mas Everyone!!

Prayer For The New Millennium

I have been very busy for the past couple of days. I have been writing up Christ+mas cards, about 70 of them. I have been wrapping presents, who knows how many. While I have been working on my many different projects, I keep thinking to myself, What can I write a post about. It came to me that I should post things that inspire me or just make me sit up and take notice. I liked what was said here so I would like to share it. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Prayer For The New Millennium

Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening of their Senate. It seems that prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this it what they heard:

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says,” Woe to those who call evil good” but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.

We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism;

We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle;

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare;

We have killed our unborn and called it choice;

We have shot abortionists and called it justified;

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem;

We have abused power and called it politics;

We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition;

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression;

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our fathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will, we ask it in the name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen”

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea. Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on “The Rest of the Story” on the radio and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord’s help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called one nation under God.

Stacy Wacy Day:)

Every Wednesday I go running around town with my friend Stacy. It is one of the ideas she came up with to get me out of the house more. She was always taking her husband lunch because Wednesdays are payday, so she asked me to come along. I have to say I enjoy it even though we don't really do a lot.

Our usual day starts with her coming to pick me up. We sit and have a glass of my tea and then go pee so we can head out the door to go pick up his check. We go all the way to the south end of town to pick it up then we have to run all the way back north to their bank so we can cash it. Then we run to somewhere in the middle of town to pick him up some lunch. He never picks the same thing every week so we go to a different restaurant every time.

This week Steven was working to far out of town for us to bring him lunch. Stacy decided that we would go to Marshall to a place called Mill Creek. Mill Creek is a park and camping grounds area on a creek. Stacy's parents like to camp and fish there all summer. Stacy had come up with the idea to get each of her parents a gift certificate for Mill Creek. Stacy's parents are very hard to buy for because they have everything they want. They are also the type of people that just go out and get what they want, but they don't really want much. You never hear them talk about what they want but boy do they talk about what they want to get for their grand kids. They are the perfect set of grandparents.

I am such a bad friend, Stacy will tell you different, but I am. I went with her to keep her company on the long drive up there. I fell asleep before we ever left town. HE HE HE HE I only slept for about 10 maybe 15 minutes but I felt bad about it. I woke up to her little squeal because the wind was blowing so hard that it felt like we would be blown off the road.The rest of the trip there was pretty nice. The clouds were low in the sky and the sky was such a beautiful shade of blue.

We get there and, while we are waiting for the nice lady to copy off the certificates, I notice a paper on the bulletin board. There was a picture of a wood caving. I show it to Stacy and the lady at the counter tells us that there are 4 wood carvings in the park. Stacy asks the lady if we could go see them, because the park is closed in winter, and she tells us that it would be OK.Here are the pictures of the wood carvings.
Indian

Eagle

Turtle

Dog Chasing Raccoon

Stacy wanted her picture taken with the doggie so here is a picture of her and then one of me. We froze our butts off standing out there taking pictures. We had a really good time that day. I know that I want to go back there next summer to camp and maybe start going there for picnics. I think Kevin, Shawn, and I could use some R&R.

It Snowed! ! ! ! !

It snowed last night! It was so great to see all those snow flakes coming down. I went outside and took some pictures.I noticed the nice white snow was piling up on my porch so I just had to draw a happy face. Isn't he cute? It was about midnight when I had went out to play around by myself. I left a couple of friends in the house playing on the computer. My Mother came home from work and as she walked up the drive way to go over home I hollered to her. She says really loud" What?". I tell her to come over and when she does I snap her picture. She says to me" Is that all you wanted ?", I grinned and said" yes!". She went home after she laughed at me.I got cold and came back in but I did have fun in the snow.I showed my friends the pictures so they wanted to go play too. I made a collage of the pictures they took so I hope you can see them.I just love all the snow!! :)

Getting Ready for Christmas:)

I have been so busy that I have not had a chance to visit any one's blog. I wanted to say I am sorry if I hurt anyone feelings but I have been very, very busy. I have been spending my time decorating the inside of my house for Christmas. Christmas time is my favorite time of year. If you click on the small pictures you will be able to see them close up. This is a picture of my Tree. It may not look like much but it has a lot of meaning for me. I have made a lot of the ornaments over the past 5 to 6 years. Here are some close up shots of the ornaments so you can see them.They are cross stitch and I make any where from 5-8 a year. I have more but I didn't want to bore you with to many.

This is a Santa sign I made a few years ago. I made it out of plastic canvas. I have to put them high on a shelf because people like to throw the blocks around like they are play toys. The big problem is not the kids but the adults. I hang around some real immature people. HE HE HE
I spent a lot of time cleaning off the entertainment center so I could put up all the Christmas decorations.

My 2 favorite decorations are my nativity scenes. The one on the right is my most favorite because baby Jesus has the cutest grin on his face.

Later that day Stacy and Michelle stopped by for a visit. Michelle brought her daughter faith with her. Stacy and I both had a picture taken with her. That gave me the break I needed so I could finish decorating the house.
My cheeks were so red that day I looked like I could have led the sleigh without Rudolph.HE HE HE HE :)
I did finally get all the decorating done. I just love Christmas! Merry Christmas everybody:)

Brought To Tears!

I received this in an E-mail this morning and it just brought me to tears. I wanted to share it with everyone. The whole time I was reading it I pictured my son going through what those children had too. I hope by posting this it at least makes people just stop and think.

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

'Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. !

'The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the N CA , the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

'In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question 'Why?'
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

'Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present with in our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped b y metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

'As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before hi s very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999 , at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!

My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!

'Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech... Please send this out to everyone you can. GOD BLESS

Black Friday

I am writing this post because Cliff from Seek Him First had asked in one of his post, "why" people go out the day after Thanksgiving. Here is the reason I do.

Most people call it Black Friday but I call it crazy day. It is the day when all the stores price their merchandise in the black. Up until about 5 or 6 years ago I would have never ever thought of going out of my house the day after Thanksgiving. I had seen all the horror stories on T.V. and could not believe people could act that way. One year Stacy asked me to go with her, and I was freaked out. I have never been the type of person to get out in the world. People I don't know scare me. I just don't like people to much because they are always mean and laugh or snicker at me so I just stay home.

As I was saying, Stacy asked me to go, and I freaked. Then I started to think , why am I letting mean people run my life. Why am I so afraid of these people. I went, and was so scared I almost peed myself, but I did it. We ran from one store to another getting great bargains on gifts. I am not a wealthy person so I have to watch what I spend. I was able to get gifts for family and friends and not feel bad, because they were really good gifts.

There have been times when I came across rude people and I have just overlooked them. I took my mother with me one year and a fight broke out. We had been standing in line ,in the cold for 2 hours and when the doors came open other people jumped out of their cars and rushed the doors. The people who had stood in the cold became angry and started fighting with them. I had my mother , brother and friend Beth with me that year. Beth and I were trying to protect my little, under 5 foot ,mother from being stomped on and we were almost thrown through the glass side windows at Menard's. My Brother had been pushed the other direction so he could not get to us to help. I had never been that scared in my life and I Loved it. My brother also loved it and now he gos with me every year even if he has no money.

This year was the first year I was unable to go. I did miss it but I know there is always next year. For me it is not only getting good deals but shows me that I can go out into the world and not be afraid. I have learned that I can deal with mean and rude people and handle myself. It is one of the scariest days of the year and I can say I am one of those crazy people that run out to get that bargain. HE HE HE HE :)

Our Thankgiving Day :)

Well Thanksgiving Day started out a little later than I had planed. Kevin and I did not make it to bed until 3 am so we slept in the fallowing Day. For us sleeping in was 10 in the morning. Well, I got up at 10, Kevin slept longer. I put all the pans on the stove for the shells and cheese, the chicken broth and the pan of potatoes.I placed the corn in a bowl with some butter and popped it into the microwave. Yes, I know it is not Thanksgiving if you nuke it but heck I cook all the other stuff. HE HE HE HE All the things I cooked the day before turned out great. Here is a picture of the pineapple upside down cake, the walnut cake, and a pumpkin pie.Yummy !

After I got everything started I ran in for a quick shower. I knew as soon as my Mom and brother smelled the food they would be running over. I took my shower and figured I would hear them when I got out. I was in luck, they had not came over yet. Kevin peeked out the window and said that their van was gone. I figured had plenty of time to get dressed and cook before they came home. They finally made it over about 1pm and I was still cooking. I was taking my time with cooking because I was not going to get everything ready then have to heat it all up again. I sat out my cheese ball that I made the day before and my little sausage appetizers. As you can see from the picture they went really fast, even T.J. had a taste. They didn't even give me time to take a picture of the full trays. Oh well, at least I know they liked them. HE HE HE HE

I finally heated up the crescent rolls and we all sat down to eat.This is my Mother coming back with her second plate. Wow I must of done a good job for my little Mommy to stuff 2 plates. They left around 3:30 because there was a Colts game playing that day. They ran down to restaurant and bar called B-Dubs(Buffalo Wild Wings) so they could watch it. My Mother and Brother are Really Big Football Fans.

Kevin, Shawn and I sat around and ate desert, that mom and Chris missed out on, and watched a little T.V. I had a nice big piece of cheese cake with cherries on top. Yummy:) When I got up to go do the dishes I saw this; All three were asleep or dead. I had either filled up all their bellies with good cooking or my cooking was so bad I killed them. HE HE HE HE They are still alive:) After they woke up Kevin and I went out looking at Christmas lights. They were so pretty!

My Day of Cooking :)

Today is my day of cooking. In my family the day before Thanksgiving is the busiest. I know most families do all their cooking on Thanksgiving but then the women are busy cooking while the men are watching football, NOT FARE! In my family we cook or prepare everything the day before so the women can also enjoy Thanksgiving. I love to cook so it does not really matter to me but the guys love it because all I have to do the next day is heat everything up and cook some of the smaller items a they can eat all day long and watch the game. See I have already stared my cooking. My cooking will not be finished until all these bowls and pans are full. Here is a picture of all the food piled on my counter. I have a very busy day ahead of me.Here is a list of everything I am cooking and the day after Thanksgiving I will post pictures of each dish so everyone can see all the goodies. Right now I am boiling the eggs for Deviled Eggs. Here is another little perk about my family. We have different words for common everyday things, in other words we talk funny. In my family they are not called deviled eggs they are called God eggs. See here are the God eggs cooking now. HE HE HE HE:) I am also cooking the chicken right now for chicken and noodles. I will not add the noodles until tomorrow but cooking the chicken the day before gives me one less this to do tomorrow. We will also be having Turkey. I bought a 19 pound one, I just hope it is big enough. there will be mashed potatoes that I will peel and slice today but will not cook until tomorrow. I will also be waiting to cook tomorrow the shells and Cheese, the corn and the crescent rolls. Today I will make the turkey,Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

a Swedish Walnut cake, a cherry cheese cake,a pineapple upside down cake, home made onion dip, a cheese ball, sausage and cheese appetizers, God eggs, and 8 pumpkin Pies. There would have been more but I ran out of money HE HE HE HE:) Then when I am all through with that, I have to cook dinner. I will be a busy little beaver HE HE HE HE :)

OK, in ending this post I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
